Francophone book space opens in Can Tho
Nguyen Minh Tuan, director of the Can Tho municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, says the space has great significance as it meets the needs of local readers wishing to learn and research documents in the French language. Kaloyan Kolevs, an officer in charge of cooperation programmes of the representative office of OIF in Asia-Pacific, (L) presents a total of 727 French books to the Can Tho City Library. The space has attracted plenty of local students who are currently studying a Vietnamese-French bilingual programme. Indeed, French is taught at 22 out of 276 primary, secondary, and high schools in Can Tho. Students sing French songs and tell French stories at the Francophone book space in Can Tho.
