Vietnam overcome Malaysia to secure semifinal berth in 2023 SEA Games men’s football

The outcome of the Group B match held at Prince Stadium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia was decided as soon as Malaysia were left with only nine players on the field following two red cards. The referee awarded Vietnam a penalty when a Malaysia defender handled the ball with their arm inside the box.  Although Nguyen Van Tung’s initial penalty kick was saved by goalkeeper Sikh Izhan, he was able to score on his second attempt, resulting in the opener for Vietnam. Following their concession, Malaysia were compelled to push forward in search of an equalizer, but they ended up seeing Van Tung complete his double and fourth goal at the 2023 SEA Games by heading in a cross from Vo Minh Trong on the left flank in the 32nd minute. Vietnam’s Delegation Organizes ASEAN Friendship Run in New York

The ASEAN Fun Run is the opening event for a series of sports and cultural exchanges towards the “ASEAN Family Day” 2023 in New York. Source: TG&VN The Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations on May 14 organised a friendship run “ASEAN Fun Run” in Roosevelt Island, New York City, VNA reported Monday. The run, initiated and organised by the mission for the first time, is the opening event for a series of the sports and cultural exchange activities towards the “ ASEAN Family Day” 2023 in New York. Japanese comedic stage art introduced at Temple of Literature

The performance put on by two Japanese artists Ogasawara Tadashi and Ogasawara Hiroaki is expected to enthrall audiences through a display of interesting plays. Visitors will also have the chance to enjoy an exhibition held at the Temple of Literature, displaying 20 Nohgaku masks created by Japanese craftsman Ogasawara Tadashi. Participants will also be able to hold exchanges with Tadashi to gain a better understanding about the traditional Japanese art. Kyogen is a form of comedy that mainly describes the daily life of ordinary people in the middle ages. Unlike Noh, most of the plays are performed without masks, with a universal humanity being depicted through laughter. The event is part of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations this year. Hanoi to host Europe Village event in mid-May

The three-day event is expected to provide audiences with a diverse range of activities, including cultural performances put on by both European and Vietnamese artists, sports activities, dance shows, and activities for children, amongst others. Visitors will also have the opportunity to sample European food or experience cutting-edge technologies and products showcased by European businesses based in Vietnam.
